Radiotherapy Technical Services

We provide integrated radiotherapy service support to the Royal Surrey Cancer Centre at Guildford and Redhill.

Our highly-trained engineers provide equipment maintenance, dosimetry and quality assurance for the Linear Accelerators, a Brachytherapy service and CT maintenance. Our services ensure the radiotherapy department at the Cancer Centre gives safe, effective and timely care to all radiotherapy patients.

Supporting radiotherapy departments since 2018

The Radiotherapy Technical Services (RTS) team at Healthcare Partners, is made up of nine highly specialist engineers and one trainee, covering two complementary areas – electronics radiation engineering and computing.

We provide a wide range of practical solutions throughout the entire life-cycle of radiotherapy equipment at the Royal Surrey Cancer Centre, from new equipment requirements, integration and validation to in-service support and obsolescence management. We also manage and run the Aria Radiation Oncology Computer System.

Our radiotherapy technical services

We provide a comprehensive radiotherapy service which includes:

Varian Linear Accelerator (LINAC) service – equipment maintenance, dosimetry and quality assurance
Brachytherapy service – first- and second-line maintenance and quality assurance
Superficial service – first-line reactive and preventative maintenance of the Superficial X-ray unit
CT scanner service – first-line reactive maintenance for the CT scanners and Varian Gating systems

Aria Radiation Oncology (Aria Rad Onc) service – management of all Aria Rad Onc IT systems, including first- and second-line reactive support, backups, network security, OS security updates, software upgrades and Ethos users
Resource management of radiotherapy equipment – technical advice, support for radiotherapy physics and procurement assistance
Radiation protection service – radiation protection advice, as well as support and management of systems that ensure the overall safety and security of the equipment and anyone using it
Research & training – support for clinical trials and research in addition to teaching and training of radiotherapy physics, trainees and students
