The challenge

We were contacted by Kingston Hospital, who wanted help in designing and installing a Visual Reinforcement Audiology room. They had bought the main pieces of equipment but needed to learn how to install them. We were currently servicing their audiometric equipment within the hospital, and so they naturally came to us for support.

The VAR room was of high importance, as it allowed them to conduct sound field testing of children with hearing loss.

Our solution

We conducted a full site survey, gained acceptance of the quote based on our recommendations, and then procured the parts required for a successful installation. We then attended, deconstructed the room and reconstructed it in order to meet the new criteria. 

This included the installation of all cabling and trunking, providing bespoke interconnection solutions for each VRA screen and loudspeaker, making tailored mounting solutions to suit each installation, and full system calibration to BSA Guidelines, appendix 2 – ISO389- 7.

The result

Our speed of execution (less than four weeks from initial contact to completion) enabled Kingston Hospital to have access to the vitally important VRA room quickly and efficiently.
